We had a blast Thursday night at the Scandinavian Christmas Market, but we weren't prepared for the large crowd! For two and a half hours we didn't stop until we sold out around 8:45. We had been told to expect from 300 to 1,000 visitors, but estimates afterwards were that there were 1,500 to 2,000 who came! Thank you to all who waited so patiently!
Special thanks to Heather and Natalie and their crew at BYU Continuing Education. They put on a wonderful market, with beautifully decorated tents and signage for each vendor, as well as a wonderful package of entertainment that included Scandinavian dancing, Norwegian Hardanger fiddle performances--even a Norwegian halling dance (see video below)! So well done--everyone we talked to wants to do this again next year.
Most of all, thank you to Alyssa and Joy for their incredibly hard work as we dealt with the challenges of cold batter that wouldn't squeeze and frozen krem that wouldn't melt in the frosty temperatures.
